Love this beautiful boat. Spotted it several times this summer on Penobscot Bay.
There’s no question that it’s made of wood. Wow!

Sailboats gathering in Bayside is a sure sign that summer’s fading. The annual Around Islesboro race was held last weekend. The race began and finished at the Bayside dock and was sponsored by the Northport Yacht Club.
Some boats came in the night before.
And the next morning the water churned with boats and their intense crews.
It was a glorious, windy, sunny day.
Just like last year’s race. But there were lots more spinnakers this year.
Here’s the Northport Yacht Club’s website. And finally, here are the results.

Just a few of the beautiful boats floating on Penobscot Bay.

Blustering wind greeted the sailers entered in the annual Race Around Islesboro Saturday morning.

And it didn’t take long the for race to begin from the Northport Yacht Club in Bayside.

The sails filled immediately and soon they were almost out of site.

The season’s winding down. Soon the moorings will be empty and sailors will only be dreaming about the next race.
Here’s the Northport Yacht Club’s website.

Spotted the first sailboat on the bay on Saturday, April 24.

We’re ready.
