Mere days ago, the temperature rose and the sun shone.

And the mist hovered.

The perfect combination of elements for trying out new beach gear.

And making new footprints in this year’s sand. Yes, we do have sand in Maine.

Last weekend, the raiders snuck into the harbor to the tune of a bagpipe.

And launched their attack on land.

But the Red Coats were ready.

And swiftly shot their cannons, while the onlookers took their own shots.

But the pirates had local support from various points in the harbor. (As well as support among the crowd.)

Casualities were few. Even those caught in the crossfire enjoyed the rest of the day.

Where do bunnies spend a dreary, soggy, spring day?

At Weatherbird in Damariscotta.

Where they can gather supplies for the sweetest of holidays coming up this Sunday.

Weatherbird has more than just sweets — wine, cheeses, produce, etc. Will do a more complete posting soon. (This is not an April Fools joke.)

But right now, sweet spring means Sweet Easter.
Have a Happy One!!!

Leprechauns may have stowed away with the Irish when they arrived in the 1800s.

Or fairies may have always lived in Maine.

But one thing’s for sure, there are some enterprising sprites developing some nice properties around here.

These charming residences were spotted at Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens in Boothbay. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
