Let’s not forget why we celebrate the Fourth of July, and honor those who pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor.
And then let the fun begin . . .
July 1-4, Bath Heritage Days — parade, fireworks, boat parade, crafts, bbq, etc.
July 1-3, Owl’s Head Transportation Museum, Fabulous ’50′s, 60′s, Antique Car & Aeroplane Show — featuring more than 400 classic autos from the industry’s most stylish decades.
July 4, Monday, Thomaston Old Fashioned Independence Day Celebration — pancakes, races, crafts, parade, fireworks, FUN, etc.
July 1-5, Camden, The Festival of Independence – music, lectures, fabulous fireworks, etc.
July 4, Bar Harbor, This Time is Our Time — pancakes, parade, lobster boat race, music and fireworks over Frenchman Bay.
July 4, Wiscasset, July Four Parade.
July 4, Blue Hill, Flash in the Pans, Flash in the Park Street Dance.
July 4, Portland, Stars and Stripes Spectacular — music, comedy and fireworks.
July 3, Deer Isle, July 4 on July 3 — fun run, parade, lobster dinner, music, dancing and fireworks
July 4, Freeport, Fun Events — pancakes, race, parade, music, and fireworks.
July 4, Boothbay, Fireworks.

(On a personal note — last year, the Thomaston Parade, and the Camden Fireworks, were both spectacular!)
2bnMaine is working on a new look, still beta – Love2bnMaine.com.

Local markets are part of the charm of being in Maine.

Often they’re combined with a gas station, and they vary from just offering basics to gourmet havens.

In Southwest Harbor you’ll find a gem right on the main drag, so you’ll have to get your gas elsewhere.

Sawyer’s Market has been serving Mt. Desert Island since 1946 and you can find the best of almost everything delicious on their shelves.

From fine Italian olive oil to local fish.

If you are lucky enough to have a boat, or are chartering from Hinckley, Sawyer’s Market should be in your address book.

Sawyer’s Market, 344 Main St., PO Box 461, Southwest Harbor, ME 04679, (207) 244-3315
