Silhouetted trees -- leaves beginning to pop.

This is the time of year to observe the different leafing strategies for different trees.

Silhouetted trees -- leaves beginning to pop.

Could be only a matter of hours till everything is green and the silhouettes totally change. Amazing!

Misty Maine.

Drama in the skies.

Tuesday, July 14th, 2009

Huge white cloud formations.

The skies in Maine can be very dramatic. This was just a crazy cloud formation. What was going on up there?

Storm moving across Penobscot Bay.

But this was a giant storm cloud that moved quickly across the bay, pounding us with a swift douse of heavy rain.

The storm cloud passed quickly so the sun could come out.

Sunshine wasn’t far behind.

Gray is beautiful.

Boats reflected in Maine gray day.

Some call it June gloom. If you’re in an area near a large body of water, you’ll often experience this soggy, gray shift from spring into summer.

Colossal clouds, moonlight and silhouettes.

Pink skies before orange leaves.

Saturday, September 20th, 2008

In late summer before the leaves turn orange and yellow, the sky turns pink.

How to improve your vision — try out the new Image Deck.

Sunday, June 29th, 2008

Click here to try the new ‘Image Deck.’

The Image Deck will be a series of galleries containing images of Maine, related to the 2bnMaine web site. It’s not fully loaded yet — still working on it. But you can get a glimpse into how it will work.

The first page is a series of photos taken from one spot on the Western shore of Penobscot Bay which will be updated periodically. And currently, there are also more photos from the Stewart Garden Tulip Tour in Northeast Harbor.

This section uses a great new content management system called Inexhibit. It’s free and open source. Try it out!

Now you can now have 20/20 vision of Maine. Check back, much more in the works.
